Wave Machine

Wave Machine

The base of the wave machine is the cabin located at the end of the main channel. To set off the wave, you'll need to take out one of the blue switches dotted around the edges of the channel - there are LOTS of them so don't worry about running out. The wave will start tearing down the channel and splits off along the side channels when it reaches the junction. It's the side channels that can often prove dangerous as you won't get much warning. If hit, the wave will throw you vehicle into the air (especially light vehicles), or drag you along to the end of the channel where it runs out of steam.

Try to set off the wave machine when there are a few vehicles in the channel - the heavier the better, as they have more difficulty crawling out! Finally if you see a wave coming your way, try and hit the Afterburner to get out of there a.s.a.p.

Wind Generators

Wind Generators

They might be good for the environment, but the can still put a huge dent in the bonnet of your '69 Manta! When you shoot or ram a generator, the blade detaches and homes in on your nearest oppoenent! This is great for losing tailing opponents - with Bulls-Eye Rockets recommended for speedy destruction. The heavy vehicles have an even better advantage, since they can usually just clip the generators to destroy them, so hit a few in a row to send some eco-friendly destruction towards your opponents!

Grain Silos

Grain Silos

The grain silos are giant reactors, just waiting for someone to push the red button! Hit them with enough firepower and they'll start expanding and contracting. Keep going and they eventually detonate, with a reasonably large blast radius. This is useful when there are skirmishes going on nearby - just take out the silo and try to get more than one opponent at the saem time

TO NOTE - there's some weird behaviour in the Dreamcast version, where all the silos detonate about 30 seconds into the game, no matter what happens.

Barns

Barns

One of the least obvious uses of barns are that they provide great cover from incoming weapons like the crater-maker, so hide underneath them when you hear that incoming whistle. Secondly, the farm machines parked next to the barns line up to form neat little ramps when they've been shot. Afterburn up the ramps and with a bit of luck you'll get into the barn loft, where there are plenty of powerups. Try braking quickly and you'll find that the loft is a great vantage point to fire interceptors at other vehicles - with the added bonus that you've got a roof over your head protecting you from incoming fire!

The Orange/Apple Grove

The Orange/Apple Grove

The orange/apple grove basically gives you a lot of coverage to avoid incoming fire, although it can often be easy to get trapped in there, not knowing which way you're facing. Use this against other opponents to confuse them. Apart from that, it's just fun to race through it, firing and watching all those oranges go flying!

The Bridges

The Bridges

The bridges can be used as ramps to reach powerups suspended in the air either side of them - but they can also be destroyed, making crossing the channel difficult without using the afterburner.

Weapons & Powerup Spawn Points

Weapons & Powerup Spawn Points

Nothing too specific, just the barns and above the bridges. The boathouse is always reliable for wrenches, but watch out for those waves!
