OK, here we go. Houston is definitely up there with the best and is my personal favourite in the game. As the stats indicate, speed is the main benefit, but the armour's not too shabby either, and avoidance is good enough to get you through most encounters. Because of this, Houston has the ability to tear around the arenas with ease, as well as powering up inclines to get those vital wrenches. Compared to Sids and Chasseys vehicles, the Palamino is slightly more sluggish and heavier, but this allows you to use it to ram weaker vehicles, so it's a good trade off. // Along with Chassey and Sid, Houston shows that high speed rankings, along with average armour and avoidance provide the best (and most fun) cars in Vigilante 8. For a classic showdown, play a deathmatch against a player who favours Sid Burns or Chassey Blue...

Super Fantastic Death Ray 3-Ax
OMAR's scientists spared no expense when creating weaponry for the ultimate assasin. This blue laser will cut through anything and keep on going. It can knock power-ups off enemies' cars!
After the great stats of the car itself, the death ray is a teensy bit of a letdown, even though it can do some pretty good damage. Like the bruiser cannon, it's important to draw a bead on your target before firing - the best shots are made when the target is stationary, or you're chasing them. And like Sheilas' weapon, the death ray can knock powerups and weapons off your opponent. Rather than charging in and hoping that the ray will knock off that pesky shield, try and hang back and fire a few shots. When on or two powerups/weapons have been removed, then move in for the kill. Also, it's worth trying to build up a supply of ammo for the death ray, as you'll probably find that it gets used up quickly in the middle of a firefight.
