Bombing Planes #1
Using the control towers, you can activate these bombers and make them target enemies with devastating results! There are two towers in the level, drive around them and keep an eye on the radar dish on the roof. When it starts rotating, drive up to the light box - it should turn green and the bomber will be called. It homes in on your targeted enemy and drops several bombs, taking a chunk of their health before they realise it. You can put a halt to others' bombing antics by simply destroying the towers.
Bombing Planes #2
These bombers will target you specifically, as soon as you set foot in the hidden areas. Try to outrun them using the Afterburner, or weave in and out of wreckage - with a bit of luck the surroundings will soak up more of the damage than you do.
Non-hostile Planes
The planes taxi-ing round the runway won't go out of their way to hit your vehicle, but are relentless in follwing their path and dish out significant damage if they hit you. With this in mind, try and drop some proximity mines around their intended path - and let opponents take the brunt! You can also destroy the planes - they release several powerups - but be careful as the fuselage has a secondary explosion that may take your vehicle by surprise.
The Crushers
There are two crushers in the level, both guarding powerup areas. In both cases, you can shoot at them to slow down the crushing arm, or hit them enough times and they'll explode. The first is static and guards the entrance to a 'junk corridor' - make it through and up the ramp and you'll get into an enclosed area with various collectables. There are two ramps that you can use to escape, but don't hang around as by this point an irate bomber will be homnig in on you, payload primed. The second guards a smaller area, but will track you as you try to cirle it in order to get the powerups. Slower vehicles won't stand much of a chance to avoid it and are best advised to destroy it outright.
Hidden Ramps
Many of the wrecked planes scattered throughout the level can be used as ramps - in the centre area you'll have to do just that in order to avoid backtracking past the crusher and bombing plane.
Weapons & Powerup Spawn Points
The most reliable place to find powerups is in the hangars as they re-appear there quite regularly. As previously mentioned, the planes themselves contain powerups - just make sure you've completely destroyed them. Also, the two hidden areas at the edge of the map guarantee wrenches, but also a huge bomber shortly afterwards!
