The Hidden Ramp

The Hidden Ramp

This ramp is cunningly marked with a 'Park It' sign - simply make sure that you've opened the building doors, then take a good run up. If successful, you'll grab the powerup hovering in the air and maybe even make it to the rooftops where further bonuses await.

Gas Station Ramps

Gas Station Ramps

By taking out the canopies at the gas stations, you'll create makeshift ramps that allow you to collect nearby powerups suspended in the air. Using the Afterburner is usually a good idea, but make sure you line up carefully!

Using Buildings

Using Buildings

Most of the larger buildings in Casino City let you drive into, underneath or through them. This can provide some much needed cover, but if they take too many hits, the outer sheel collapses, leaving nothing but the scaffolding (and a very exposed vehicle.)

Underground Garage

Underground Garage

The underground garage usually houses a powerup and can be a good place to retreat to - it's particulary difficult to access with larger vehicles. However, it becomes exposed when the building above is destroyed. TO NOTE - if you're playing this level in Second Offense, it's not a good idea to enter the garage with Hoverpods attached, you're vehicle presses against the roof and may pop through to the building above.

Weapons & Powerup Spawn Points

Weapons & Powerup Spawn Points

The majority of powerups are on the rooftops, or via the gas station ramps. Since it's so difficult to get to them, chances are if you do reach the rooftops there will be plenty! Otherwise, a couple of large buildings hold pickups, but other than that there are various items thoughout the level.

Bright Lights

Bright Lights

This level uses lots of lighting effects, which can often dazzle opponents. Fortunately, as with most scenery in Vigilante 8, most are destructible. See the screenshots above for an example of taking out every light in the arena!

Manhole Covers

Manhole Covers

Manholes are dotted all over the level - if you drive near them, a jet of steam blasts the cover inot the air. This is powerful enough to flip the lighter vehicles, so try using the Bear Hug combo to trap opponents over them.

The Blimp

The Blimp

The Blimp is a unique feature in that it allows you to take contol of another, larger vehicle. Simply wait for the Blimp to land where it will lower a ramp allowing you to drive inside. The camera will pull back and you'll be able to fly high above the arena, albeit steering left and right only. The main use is to access nearby roofs which are covered in powerups. This can take a bit of practice, usually it's best to wait until the building is just disappearing off the foot of the screen before hitting the gas. This launches your vehicle from the Blimp (hopefully) onto the goodie-packed rooftop.

Bear in mind that the Blimp is quite fragile and enemy weapons will target you , usually sending the Blimp to the ground in a ball of flame!
