The Groovan is a fan favourite, posssibly because it is relatively well balanced in the scheme of things. Not too slow and not too weakly armoured, the Groovan is a good allrounder.

Invasion!
Invasion! Anyone who's heard this battle cry will know that attack by an bunch of irate UFOs is incoming. Unlike previous games, where the mini saucers caused damage by bashing the target vehicle, these one fire a succession of lasers. The big benfit with this special is that you don't have to be anywhere near the opponent, just target them, fire, and they'll home in of their own accord.
If, on the other hand, you're getting attacked by the saucers, try to fire up an Afterburner and get out of there as soon as possible. You'll probably take a few hits, but much less thatn if you just hang around...
