Water Locks

Water Locks

These two water locks can drastically alter the arena as they drain it, allowing you to drive throught the now shallow water, as well as creating more dry land! This is only temporary, so be sure you're not in the middle of the swamp when it starts rising! To open the locks, you need to shoot at the wheel located on each of the locks' bridges. It's probably best to start with the bottom lock, then make your way up and shoot the top one. There's a hydro floater near this one, so you can collect it and jump straight in the swamp until its drained. Draining the swamp uncovers a few powerups, but also lets you collect toolboxes in quest mode. Using a Bear Hug mine will also allow you to trap an opponent - then just sit back and wait for the tides to rise! The locks are also pretty reliable for wrenches.

Cages

Cages

There are several cages scattered around the water - if you can't spot them hanging overhead, keep an eye out for the ghostly presence beneath them. This apparition also acts as a trigger - driving through it causes the cage to drop. Bad news if you're caught in it, but every now and again you can lure a tailing opponent through the trigger, trapping them. At this point, it's time to break out the big guns, preferably the crater maker

Skilled players may also be able to trap the alligator - you'll need to get him to follow you first, then head (quickly) through a trigger point. If successful, he'll release crates and repair wrenches - but won't be happy when he escapes...

The Graveyard

The Graveyard

There are a couple of features regarding the graveyard - for starters the main building acts as a teleport to the Mansion and vice-versa. The tombs themselves crack open after a few hits to reveal a interceptr-like 'ghost', that homes in one nearby opponents.

The Mansion

The Mansion

Apart from the creepy portrait, the Mansion acts as a teleport station linked to the graveyard.

Silos and Sinking Marshes

Silos and Sinking Marshes

There are almost always powerups to be had from the silos - so make it a first choice if you need a wrench. Although you start sinking in the marshes, you can't be pulled all the way under, though it does slow you down. Use this against opponents by firing mortar-based weapons at them while they can't easily escape.

Weapons & Powerup Spawn Points

Weapons & Powerup Spawn Points

There are lots of powerups scattered across the water of the surface, but skimming round the edge of the swamp usually turns a few items up as well.

The Alligator

The Alligator

As with the Launch Center sharks, the alligator patrols the murky swamp. Drive too close and he home in on you, jaws a-chomping, depleting your health. Give him a wide berth when in the water and certainly don't shoot him when he's sunbathing at the side of the marsh! It is however, possible to get him to switch from chasing you to a nearby opponent, particularly if you're in a fast vehicle and they're, er, not.
